Looks like it is about time to do another big Journal update.
What Have I Been Up To?
Well lets see, Con wise I have had London Super Comic Con and Kitacon V, and during the winter I tried (and mostly failed) to do some home studio shoots as well as learn new and improved editing techniques. Not all with out worth, I feel stronger in many editing areas than I did a few months ago. And I also prepared a few more costumes so I can feel part of the cosplay scene more than just an observer xD.
London Super Comic Con
Good news everyone before this occurred I got my adult card in full and married my beautiful little woman, it was cool we both got these funky free gold rings that totally were free and not like expensive ..... (that's how it works right?) xD
This was us just after the ceremony on our way for food with 50 of our besties making full abuse of the tube system -
(Thanks forever to Nick Acott photography
for doing all of our Wedding photos!)
Haha now successfully an adult with my adult ring I then went straight ahead and full on re-embraced cosplay to show it really doesn't change anything. For London super comic con I did one day of Photography (which have been slowly going up on here and on my photography page
) and I did one day in cosplay (setting my camera aside), I had the great fun to be in the best Walking Dead Cosplay group ever ever ever ever ... ever.
Seriously look at all these sexy bitches xD .. I'm the one on the end doing the best resemblance of the Governor I can manage:
(Thanks to Lucas from Super Cosplay Girls / Guys
for taking the shots of us)
And because egotistically I really liked my Governor here have another shot from Lucas of just me pretending to be the king in a a chari we totally found xD:
I actually just put up some of the last photos from LSCC today so I will totally just thumb nail dump a load of the ones I really liked here:
... Though I realise I do have like 9 images I didn't upload to dA minimum .. though I am sure I will pop them up when I hit a content lull.
Kitacon too me is my favourite of all the UK conventions, PartyCon itself, how can you not love it .. so much fun to be had! And there was .. I super enjoyed Kita, managing to do a mix of photography (with out mentally crippling myself too much), see stuff and relax + cosplay myself. I'm going through editing now and will be doing them as I get to them over the next few weeks, starting with the setup coloured light shots I did on the Saturday night, the first of those went up last night / this morning:
I really don't like to push myself too much to just churn the shots out and rush post these days, it means a little delay on the shots coming out but I would prefer huge Quality over quantity! It's kinda been the way I have wanted to go throught out my learning journey that is photography
The last couple of months kinda quietly I have been keeping up a gym routine, it is mostly cardio until I get over my nerves and slowly slide into doing more core and muscle based exercise. This was all owing to one thing, I was fat .. actually quite fat, I was also quite good at hiding how fat xD so i don't think mos tpeople noticed super tons but I have lost a good stone in weight since starting and one of my happiest moments was to find that my old Duty blue officers uniform from Battlestar galactica fitted me again ... it's a tiny bit tight but I wasn't able to wear it like 2 months ago so success of a sorts! This is what lead to melazy re-cosplaying as Admiral Adama at Kitacon (if you didn't guess I am a major BSG fan ... So Say We All ... xD), I managed to steal Lucas for some photos which are slowly going up on his end
... here is one he gave me recently:
(More love to Lucas from Super Cosplay Girls / Guys
Well Con wise I have MCM London Comic Con in a month and a half .. but I think I maybe super picky with photos at that as last time I 100% fucked myself and by the end wa sin super back and head pain! So a being a little more picky sounds good and also allows me to focus what sor tof shots I want to do and get ones which i can work with on expanding my digital manipulation knowledge on.
In two weeks ish I have a studio shoot with the folk from Maids of England
for their annual calender, I also have a few SHOCK SHOCK non cosplay shoots planned, one of which I will go into in a later journal properly once I start to do the first shoot with the first model!
.. The thing is I have always seen photography as the one art I can do, this means I don't want to just do one form, Cosplay Photography is cool and I will continue to do that a lot (it helps for practice and learning anyway so why not) ... but I do want to do some of the shoots I have planned which have an artistic idea and intention, things I'd want to exhibit in the future if I could .... so yeah maybe slightly less Cosplay stuff in the future but a much more varied mix of other stuff
Right onwards I suppose ... xD
Featured Folk, in this case not all exactly super buddy buddy friends but people whos art I have been looking at a lot of recent:
Bye all, have fun ... I'll update again .. some time ... Probably summer? xD
